Mary Alice Reporting –

A new roadway will make the local dog holding facility more accessible.

Currently, a single gravel lane takes visitors to the Tuscarawas County Dog Pound but that will soon change.

Beth Lewis, the Facility and Adoption Specialist, gave residents a peak at ongoing construction through a Facebook video.

“And you’re going to enter from further down Tech Park Drive, and it’s also going to be wide enough for two cars, which is amazing. It’s going to be gravel for a while and then hopefully next year, when that gravel settles, we will have some sort of hard surface material put down on top.

Work that has been done so far has been land clearing and leveling of the space.

Cost for the project is $75,000 and the Tuscarawas County Engineer’s Office is doing the work.
