Two local farmers markets will open this week.
The Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market opens at the County Fairgrounds on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. Mark McKenzie still helps coordinate the market 16 years after helping to start it with the Leadership Tusc class of 2008.
The Twin Cities Farmers Market opens on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Dennison. It was formerly the Uhrichsville Farmers Market before moving to what board member Whitney Manson called a more flexible space. She says the name change incorporates the entire Twin Cities community.
The Tuscarawas County Farmers Market continues on Wednesdays through the second week of October. The Twin Cities Farmers Market runs from June to August.
