Gwen Rummell Reporting –

The Tuscarawas County Humane Society is holding their largest fundraising event of the year.

The 16th Annual Cause for Paws gala will be located at the Breitenbach Tool Shed in Dover on April 27th.

As a non-profit organization, the Humane Society receives no operational funding from county, state, or federal entities. They rely on grants, donations, and events.

Shelter Director Haley Predragovich says their operating costs go mainly to medical bills.

“It’s always medical expenses for the animals so all of those different expenses, those do add up. Also, all of our animals, dogs and cats, get spayed or neutered here on site once they come into the shelter before they are available for adoption. All of our animals are heartworm tested, they are vaccinated, they are leukemia tested, and all of that.”

The gala will feature music, silent auction items, live auctions, grab bags, gift basket prizes, and more. Dinner is included in the ticket price.

Tickets are on sale until April 17th and can be purchased by going to www.tuschumanesociety.com and clicking on the events tab.
