Thanks to Operation Warm the Tuscarawas County Job and Family Services Office is providing coats to TANF eligible families.
Wendy Popham says in order to be eligible for the free winter item, families must fill out an application about their gross monthly income and being under the federal poverty guideline.
“Families with minor children in the home and they just have to be under 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. Real simple process. We just have to have that application that we keep on file for Operation Warm in case they need it for anything.”
Popham says the winter gear is available while supplies last. They started out with 228 and as of Friday morning they had 205 coats.
“We have size 2T through XL/XXL available and they come in a variety of colors, and they’re good coats to help keep our children warm this winter.”
Eligible families can apply at the Tuscarawas JFS Office located in New Philadelphia at 389 16th Street SW.
