Final numbers for the spring 2024 turkey season has been determined and Tuscarawas County placed in the top three.

According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife, 15,535 birds were checked. The total statewide harvest represents all turkeys checked from April 20th to May 26th and includes the two-day youth season as well as both zones.

Ashtabula had the highest amount with 470, followed by Belmont with 454. Tuscarawas rounds out the top three with 449.

Compared to the three-year average, the total for 2024 is an increase by about 1,500 turkeys checked.
