A Canton man was arrested following a State Route 250 pursuit and foot chase where K9 Rocky was deployed.

According to the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, they assisted the Strasburg Police Department, on Sunday, in a pursuit that reached speeds over 100 mph.

The vehicle traveled on SR 250 toward New Philadelphia and then towards Midvale. Stop sticks were deployed by Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers, with it hitting some of the suspect vehicle’s tires.

The driver exited at Midvale and turned onto State Street, and continued on Eastport Road. Near 5914 Wolf Run Road, law enforcement was able to maneuver the suspects’ vehicle off the road.

The driver then fled on foot prompting Deputy Chris Edwards to deploy K-9 Rocky to apprehend the suspect. The suspect suffered some bite wounds, which were treated at the scene and at a hospital.

The suspect, Sean Wahl, 26, from Canton, was found to have several outstanding warrants out of Stark County. Additional charges will be filed by Strasburg Police for the pursuit and traffic violations.
