A 44-year-old Tippecanoe man faces a felony charge after being charged with his fourth OVI offense in the past 10 years and seventh since 2000.

The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office says Ronald A. Lillie Junior had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when deputies pulled him over along state Route 212 in Lawrence Township on Sunday at 12:23 a.m. The report says deputies observed his vehicle traveling at a slow speed and failing to maintain marked lanes or use turn signals.

Lillie was arraigned in New Philadelphia Municipal Court Monday morning on the felony OVI charge and a misdemeanor violation. Court records indicate he was released on his own recognizance with an alcohol monitor. However, Sheriff Orvis Campbell says Lillie remains in the Tuscarawas County Jail for a probation violation from a previous OVI with bond set at $2,500. A preliminary hearing on the OVI charge is scheduled for March 10th.

In other news out of the sheriff’s office, deputies are investigating after a cat thought to have a broken leg had actually been shot. Reports say the owner brought his cat to the vet in Franklin Township on Friday afternoon. X-rays revealed the animal had been shot in the leg.

Deputies are also investigating a case of vandalism at the Columbia Woodlands resort in north Dover. Reports say three males trespassed onto the property and discharged two fire extinguishers. One is missing and the other was thrown in a pond.
