Numbers are in for the two-day gun season that was available for youth.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division reports that, during the season held November 18th and 19th, over 10,000 white tailed deer were harvested, an increase of 529 deer compared to 2022.

The top five counties for the youth season was Tuscarawas bringing in 391, followed by Coshocton, Muskingum, Knox, and Holmes.

Through Sunday, ODNR indicates over 41,800 youth deer permits were issued, which are valid for all remain deer hunting seasons in Ohio.

Gun hunters of all ages can participate in the upcoming seven-day gun season which begins Monday, Nov. 27 and runs until Sunday, Dec. 3.
