Mary Alice Reporting –

Wednesday morning sirens will sound throughout the valley as a test to the tornado system.

This coincides with the Statewide Tornado Safety Drill, at 9:50am.

Central Dispatch, at the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, will run the outdoor sirens a full cycle. This sequence is three minutes on and three minutes off, repeated four times.

Residents can stay weather alert by following weather apps or ensuring cellular phone are enable to receive Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA).

In the event of an actual tornado, individuals should keep in mind “DUCK”, a four-step process which means to go down to the lowest level, get under something, cover the head, and keep in shelter until the storm has passed.
