United Way of Tuscarawas County is gearing up for its annual Day of Caring, and this year it falls on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22nd.
Events Manager Hannah Hartman says volunteer teams will head out from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to tackle spring clean-up projects at local historical sites and nonprofit organizations.
Last year, about 150 volunteers from 15 area businesses took part, and Hartman is hoping to grow those numbers this year.
She’s encouraging anyone interested to sign up by this Wednesday by emailing manager@tuscunitedway.org or calling 330-343-7772.
Cleanup projects are planned at Blessings in a Backpack, the Dennison Depot, the Norma Johnson Center, Schoenbrunn Village, the Salvation Army and other sites.
