Tusky Valley Board of Education gets rare distinction award for the second time.
Ohio School Board Association Northeast Regional Manager Reno Contipelli presented the award during the board’s December meeting.
“Congratulations on the Board of Distinction. I’ve never seen a board and administration work together as a team and that’s a credit to all the board and administration and past administration. So, I want to thank you for that and all the good things you do here for the students at Tusky Valley.”
He says this is a rare award as there are over 700 boards across the state and only five have been honored.
“When they started giving out the award a couple of years ago, Tusky Valley won it then too. It is my honor to represent them the plaque and on a personal note, cause I don’t get to do this much in my region cause we don’t get many board that earned this, I want to thank you guys for the service and past service that you’ve done.”
For a board of education to qualify for the Distinction Award, they must demonstrate collaborative teamwork in strategic planning, conduct board self-assessments, and participate in continuing conference training.
