Few details have been released in this developing story regarding a charter bus that was rear-ended by a semi-truck that resulted in a fiery accident.
The Associated Press reports that the Tuesday morning accident has shut down Interstate 70, and according to OHGO, this is between Reynoldsburg and Union.
The Tuscarawas Valley Local School District confirmed that the students and chaperones were on the way to the Ohio School Boards Association Conference in Columbus. District officials are working to learn more details as multiple serious injuries are being reported.
“The charter bus was transporting band student from Tusky Valley, a total of 57 individuals were on board Licking County Emergency Management Agency Director Sean Grady said”.
AP reports that the accident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. on Interstate 70 West in Licking County, near the Smoke Road underpass.
Numerous emergency responders are at the scene.
