Mary Alice Reporting –
The Tuscarawas Valley Local School District has made the decision to not have classes the week of November 20th.
In a community video message, Superintendent Derek Varansky extended his gratitude to the community members and businesses for their help and support, and to those who helped during the events following Tuesday crash.
As a way to honor those lost, Tusky Valley will not have school for the next week.
“Thanksgiving break will officially begin on Monday, November 20th. Students will return to school on Tuesday, November 28th. When students return, mental health services will remain for as long as we need them.”
The middle-high school will be open to the public Monday through Wednesday, November 22nd.
“From 8am to 3pm as a community resource for anybody who needs support. Clinical counselors, therapy dogs, and pastoral care will be here for anyone; students, staff, parents, or any community member.”
Additionally, services and visitation dates and times for the six lost in the accident have been released on the Tusky Valley Trojans Facebook page.
Anyone wishing to extend a monetary donation directly to the Trojan Foundation can do so at the First Federal Community Bank. Multiple businesses are also donating proceeds during scheduled events and a list of those can be found on the Towpath Rotary Club Facebook page.
