From 100 years down to the 15th anniversary, businesses within the county and Twin City community were recognized.

During the Twin City Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards ceremony, the recognitions were made for milestone celebrations in 2024.

Achieving 100 years in operation was Clay City Pipe Co. along with Baker Florist, says Executive Director Beth DiDonato.

“Roy and Hazel Baker, the current owners’ great grandparents, opened Dover’s first flower shop in 1924. In 2016, Dalene Baker took it over. She is the fourth generation of Baker’s to run the business.”

Also recognized for 100 years was the Dennison Rotary Club, and accepting the award was President Bob Michaels.

“It’s taken a lot of people to get to the point where we are and to be as successful as we are. All of our members deserve that. We’re one big happy family and a appreciate all of them and we enjoy doing what we do for the community.”

The Uhrichsville Moose Lodge has been operating for 80 years followed by the law firm of Connolly, Hillyer, and Ong at 60 years.

DiDonato notes that Claymont Public Libraries also achieved a milestone. The beginning was organized by the local tourist club in 1899, 125-years ago, before moving locations in 1934. The Dennison part of the library began in 1923.

“In 1964, the Uhrichsville and Dennison libraries were consolidated into the Claymont School District Public Library. The Uhrichsville branch moved to its current location in 1970. The Dennison branch moved to its current location in 1998, after land was purchased and it was built there.”

In the 40 year category is MCIM and MRS Industrial Supply.

Furniture Warehouse has been in business for 30 years followed by The Dennison Yard and Joy Bookkeeping at 25 years, and the Red Roof Inn for 20 years.

Rounding out the milestone anniversaries for 2024 was Tango & Gotti and the Tuscarawas County Clinic for the Working Uninsured at 15 years.
