Community members gathered Wednesday evening to celebrate businesses and individuals who were awarded for their contribution to the Uhrichsville and Dennison areas.

The Twin City Chamber of Commerce annual awards ceremony comes after nominations and a committee narrowing down the choices.

Winners included Business of the Year going to Over the Rail Diner and the Dennison Rotary Club receiving the Community Contribution award.

Getting the Educator of the Year was a Buckeye Career Center administrator, which was presented by Chamber Recording Secretary Beverly Pearch.

 “This person consults with eleven school districts as they explore career technical education. He inspires people of all ages and backgrounds to use education to change their life the better. The 2024 Educator of the Year is Frank Polen.”

The Golden Apple, presented by Chamber Board member Kelly Bowe, is given to a member within a school district that is not an educator.

“This person winning this award has over two decade and has been described as a shining example of dedication and excellence. The 2024 Golden Apple award winner is Brenda Wright, Claymont City Schools.”

The Twin City Award was given to Amy Myers and Employee of the Year went to Renee Burdette.

Business grant winners were also announced for Freight Train Pizza and Clay Capital Heritage Center.
