Following a report of shots being fired, two are being held at the Tuscarawas County jail.

New Philadelphia police had responded around 1:40am on Monday when a caller stated that that a dark colored vehicle was driving by his East High Avenue home when individuals opened fire before speeding away. No injuries were reported.

An investigation determined that the driver was 19-year-old Riley Adams and the shooter was 19-year-old Gavin Kurtz.

The two are being held in the Tuscarawas County Justice for felonious assault and improperly handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Adams is additionally charged with assault with knowingly harming a victim and aggravated robbery, according to jail booking information.
