On the ballot was congressional races for Ohio’s 6th and 12th Districts with the incumbents winning the majority of votes.

The congressman who won a special election will retain his seat for the 6th District, which covers 11 counties, including all of Carroll and a portion of Tuscarawas County. Michael Rulli took a large lead with over 18,000 votes in Tuscarawas. For the total district, the Republican had almost 67-percent of the votes.

As for incumbent Troy Balderson, he had over 9,000 Tuscarawas County voters and received 68-percent within the entire 12th district.

“It’s probably the most beautiful congressional district in the state of Ohio, but most importantly the people and who you represent. Being able to community with not only friends but meeting new people throughout the district and just letting them know that I am there for them and to represent them in Washington DC.”

Balderson was first elected in 2018 and noted wanting to continue working on legislation related to energy, healthcare, telehealth, and rural transportation.

These number are preliminary.
