The City of Uhrichsville now has two seats to fill as it was announced that an At-Large member is stepping down.

The Uhrichsville Democratic Central Committee will meet to fill the position on Wednesday, June 25th at 6:30 pm in the Uhrichsville Council Chambers. Any Democrat that resides within the Uhrichsville City limits is eligible to be considered. If interested in being appointed through the end of 2025, please plan to attend the meeting.

Mayor Jim Zucal says Steve Patterson will take up to role of street superintendent on June 23rd.

“Steve has a passion for the community. Feels he would be better served working for the city to improve. he wants to help in this cleanup effort. he’s particular to detail. I think sometimes I tell him he and I think alike.”

Jeff Galbreath is leaving that street position after 21 years of service.

“He’s done a good job for the city. We left on good terms, and I appreciate what he’s done. I don’t know how we can say thank you enough to him, but I wish him well. I have a certificate of recognition for Jeff. Jeff was here in good times, tough times, no matter what it was blizzards and money woes and everything the city’s had, and Jeff held out through it all, and I commend him for that.”

Meanwhile, Matt Fox had stepped down as Ward 1 councilman. The Democratic Central Committee was unable to appoint someone, and council now has 30 days. Anyone living in Ward 1 interested in serving on council through 2027 should send a letter of intent to sclough@cityofuhrichsville.org by June 23rd. Council will hold interviews and hopefully select someone on Thursday, June 26th.
