Voters have the chance to meet participating candidates at two different events.

Offered by the League of Women Voters of Tuscarawas County, the September 25th and October 1st gatherings will be from 6pm to 7pm.

Karen Gallagher says the first will be at the Uhrichsville Elks Lodge and the other at First Presbyterian Church, in New Philadelphia.

“We have invited all the candidates. Any party that is running for office. RSVP aren’t’ required so they can just walk in that night with their literature that they have, they’re yard signs if they have those.”

All November candidates have been invited to one or both dates to meet with community members.

“To be able to talk to them, to be able to look at their face rather than just a page on a computer, and you can get in touch with them personally, I feel, when you’re standing next to them. We’re going to give the candidates a chance, three to five minutes, to tell the people a little about themselves, why they’re running for office, and then we’re just going to open it up and let people walk around and talk and mingle.”
