Two people were injured in a two-car crash that closed Ragersville Road Northwest in Sugarcreek for about two hours yesterday. Initially, responders called for Cleveland Clinic’s Critical Care Transports helicopter but later determined that wasn’t necessary.
They treated two patients at the scene and drove them to area trauma centers. Sugarcreek Fire and Rescue reported the two cars involved had major damage, as did utility poles in the area. The crash happened around 4:30 p.m., and the road reopened around 6:30. The State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Officials there were not immediately available to provide additional details. Several other departments helped at the scene, including Baltic Fire and Rescue, Wayne Township Fire and Rescue, Tuscarawas County and the Sheriff’s Office.
