Uhrichsville fills one of their open council seats, but another remains empty.
The Democratic Central Committee met to appoint any democrat living in city limits to an At-Large seat, which was vacated by Steve Patterson as he moved to the street superintendent position.
During Thursday’s council meeting, Barbara Colvin was sworn in by Law Director Jeff Merklin. Colvin will serve through December 2025. She was also appointed to fill the spot on the ballot in November.
Meanwhile, Uhrichsville council had two interested candidates in the vacated Ward 1 seat. Robert Baker was in attendance Thursday and was interviewed in executive session. The other individual was not present. Council made the decision to not appoint anyone that evening. A special meeting will be July 2nd at 6pm.
Ward 1 opened after Matt Fox resigned. Council has until July 8th to officially appoint a new council member.
