A state grant will allow the creation and retention of 123 jobs in the city of Uhrichsville.
The Ohio Department of Development has awarded 455-thousand dollars to the city for a road project to facilitate the ColorWrap company’s expansion at its North Wardell Street location. Mayor Jim Zucal called it a huge deal. He can’t remember another time where the city received this much money for a project without having to provide matching funds or spend any of its own money. Zucal says it puts Uhrichsville back on the map.
The Roadwork Development Grant will fund the reconstruction of a little more than a quarter mile of Wardell Street, starting at the ColorWrap site. The project will extend a box culvert and allow for a larger turning radius for heavy trucks. This will allow ColorWrap to expand its operations, creating 50 new jobs and retaining 73 others.
