A 22-year-old is facing felony charges following a high-speed police pursuit with Uhrichsville police.

On April 1st, at around 3:50am, Officer Brian Lawver attempted a traffic stop on a 2020 Nissan Rogue for speeding and a stop sign violation. This was on Jaycee Drive near Trenton Avenue.

A release from Uhrichsville indicates the vehicle continued to US 36 east, reaching speeds over 115 before getting off at Dennison.

The chase went out Eastport Road, toward Midvale, at speeds of 90 mph. This is when a unit with the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office joined.

The driver continued through Midvale and merged onto US 250 where another deputy joined the pursuit. Speeds at this point exceeded 125.

The vehicle exited at Schoenbrunn and headed toward Brightwood Road and onto North Water Street Extension before transitioning onto Indian Hill Road, to US 36, and then onto Edwards Ridge Road. The driver doubled back, almost striking Officer Lawver head on, instead drove through a barbed wire fence, ending in a lot of Star Metal Manufacturing.

The Tuscarawas County resident, identified as Caleb Brown, was incarcerated in the county jail.
