Upcoming paving work, pool slide repairs, and the purchase of a vehicle for the City of Uhrichsville’s code enforcement officer were all approved at the latest council meeting.

Service Director Cade Watkins says there were two slides that needed attention.

“The only ones that were deemed safety issues were on the big green body slide and the small blue slide that’s on the aqua play structure.”

The cost is roughly $16,000.

Watkins also noted that a Twin City Water and Sewer project on Uhrich Street and 11th will wrap up and paving should begin around April 27th.

Meanwhile, Mayor Jim Zucal says they are looking forward to taking their limited budget, around $200,000 thanks to a levy, and tackle some paving.

“Another significant piece of Deersville Avenue, maybe some chip and seal on N. Water Street extension and a couple of other small streets in the city but we don’t have a very big budget for paving.”

In previous years the city has bid paving with the county engineer’s office, but this year that process will be internal. Zucal says this will hopefully seeing resurfacing done earlier instead of in the fall.

Elsewhere, council approved the purchase of a used vehicle dedicated to the code enforcement officer and his duties traveling around the city. There is not a capped dollar amount but the mayor says it would likely be under $15,000 and this expense was put into the 2026 budget.
