Mary Alice Reporting –
Amid the ongoing Canadian wildfires, it’s once again providing poor air quality in multiple states.
The Ohio Department of Health issued a notice of precautionary measures as the smoke creates unhealthy conditions in the state for the second time in three weeks.
According to AirNow, the Tuscarawas Valley has a “very unhealthy” score.
Smoke from wildfires contains particulates. Particulates can be inhaled into your lungs and cause irritation of the eyes, nose or throat, coughing, shortness of breath, and chest pain; and can also aggravate chronic heart and lung conditions.
ODH recommends limiting outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and to use a humidifier if irritation occurs in the throat, eyes, or nose.
