United Way of Tuscarawas County is offering free tax services through their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.

For its 6th year, the VITA program, in partnership with the DoverPhila Credit Union, has 25 IRS certified volunteers to help with filing taxes.

Individuals and families who have an income of $60,000 or less are eligible. President Robin Waltz says along with checking eligibility, participants must bring required documents.

“We are requesting that clients bring in a valid driver’s license or photo id, their social security card, [and] we would need any w2’s or 1099’s. If they could bring a copy of last year’s federal and state return, we would request that as well so we can do some comparisons.”

The drop off sites are at the DoverPhila Credit Union locations at Fillmore Ave, Dover and Newcomerstown.

Appointments can be made by visiting www.tuscunitedway.org or by calling 330-994-8482, requesting Dover or Newcomerstown locations.
