Gwen Rummell Reporting –

A local board will partner with two parks to install universal changing tables for adults and children with disabilities.

The installation is made possible through an American Rescue Plan Act grant from the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. The universal changing tables provides a comfortable environment for those who require help with personal care.

The first location is the Dover Park in both pool houses and restrooms.

“The Dover Parks and Recreations Department is excited, expecting several new additional improvements. In partnership with Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities, we are installing open base powered changing tables in our park restrooms.”

At Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia, a changing table will be located inside the Park Place Youth Center.
