Nick McWilliams reporting – Friends of the four-legged are invited to the 15th Annual Cause for Paws Gala later this month.
Supporting the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, the gala is held at Breitenbach Tool Shed outside Sugarcreek.
Tickets are on sale now for $65 each, along with full table sponsorships as well, according to Shelter Director Haley Predragovich.
She adds that the deadline of April 9th to donate silent auction basket items is fast approaching, along with the ticket sale window closing.
“The deadline for ticket sales is April 21st, so if people are wanting to attend, make sure that they go to our website and purchase their tickets as soon as possible.”
The fundraiser serves as the largest sources of operating dollars for the shelter, which she says helps keep the lights on and the gas working.
Predragovich notes that each edition of the gala helps keep the shelter doors open for one calendar year, which can be an expensive endeavor with daily feedings and upkeep of roughly 30 to 40 dogs and 40 to 50 cats at any given point.
“We also vet all of our animals, so they are spayed and neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, feline-leukemia tested negative. And if they come in sick or injured, or anything like that, we do provide that medical service.”
Ticket purchases include dinner and dessert, a bid number for auctions, live music, grab bags, and more.
