Mary Alice Reporting –

New security features are being installed at the Tuscarawas County office building.

Entrance for the office and County Courthouse went to one location for all visitors to pass through a security checkpoint, manned by deputies with the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office.

Tuscarawas County Commissioner Kristen Zemis says they are working with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to upgrade the security features.

“To streamline that entrance, make it more secure for our deputies and the public, to give them better visibility, and more space for cameras and other things.”

Zemis says this change will create a safer environment for visitors and staff.
