An Eagle Scout has to redo his project after vandals absconded with the signs.
Aron Brindley placed signs depicting facts of Uhrichsville and Dennison along the trail connecting the two communities.
“In November, my eagle scout project was putting up history facts of both the towns along the Panhandle Passage. It came to my attention over spring break that three on Uhrichsville’s side had been vandalized. One of the polls had been ripped out of the ground, one of the signs had been bent off. We don’t know where they went.”
Three of seven posts were damaged.
Following the theft, Brindley went to the city’s mayor with ideas to replace and improve the walking area.
“I was upset with it but I thought this would be a good time to help improve that side of the park. We’ve come up with some pretty good solutions cameras and lights down on that end to make that area safer. Not just for the project but for the citizens that go down there.”
In attendance at the council meeting was Larry Wood, of Wood Electric, who commended Brindley on his ranking achievement and offered to help with improving the lighting along the path.
