Vera E. “Ellen” Stalder, 66, of Dover passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, in the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital.
Born on May 12, 1956, in Coshocton she was a daughter of the late Richard and Norma Hannahs. Ellen retired in 2008 from the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities after 32 years of service. She was a member of the Newcomerstown Church of Christ and was also an active member with the Dover Lions Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed being with her family, quilting, making crafts and spending time with her pets; Ellen was a true animal lover.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Stalder whom she married on September 30, 1982; son, Chris (Caitlin) Stalder of Dover; sisters, Marsha (Bill) May of Cambridge, Cheryl (Mark) Gunton of Newcomerstown and her brother, Jeff Hannahs of Newcomerstown.
A service celebrating Ellen’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 10th starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rob Murry officiating. The family will be greeting friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
