Nick McWilliams reporting – Residents can declutter and get their homes and properties in order with spring cleaning in the village of Dennison.

May 2nd and 3rd will offer a chance to remove debris and items that are no longer in use, free of charge, after scheduling a pick-up time.

Appliances like stoves, washers and dryers, home furnishings, mattresses, computers, microwaves, and more will be accepted. Refrigerators and freezers will also be accepted with Freon removed.

Hazardous materials, liquids, paints, batteries, tires, and fluorescent lights will not be accepted. Common household trash will also not be taken by village workers.

The service is only for those living within the corporation limit, and the village reserved the right to limit the amount of items picked up.

To schedule a pick-up, contact the mayor’s office at (740) 922-4072, ext. 4, with the address and a brief description of the items to be taken, which should be placed on the curb.

Brush, yard clippings, and leaves should be dropped off in the yard waste bin at the street department garage.
