The Tuscarawas county health department is notifying the public about a still high level of flu and COVID activity right now.
COVID cases statewide did drop from just over eight-thousand last week to 66-hundred this week, after rising for five weeks in a row.
Community relations director Jennifer Demuth says in the last weekly report, Ohio had 294 flu hospitalizations statewide.
Tuscarawas County had 79 reported cases of COVID for the week ending January 4th.
Demuth reminds everyone that flu and COVID vaccines are still available at the health department and many local pharmacies and that most insurance plans cover their cost.
