Teams of volunteers were out helping spruce up the valley as part of United Way’s annual Day of Caring on Wednesday.

At the Dover Public Library, employees from First Federal Community Bank spent the morning mulching, weeding, and tackling spring cleanup projects. Among them was Scott Heil, who says giving back is an important part of being connected to the community.

Also lending a hand at the library was T4C Director Leslie Booth, taking part in Day of Caring for the first time.

Meanwhile, at Schoenbrunn Village, a volunteer team from Advocates for Success cleaned up fallen branches and limbs. Site Superintendent Tanner Immel says the extra help makes a noticeable difference as the historic village prepares for the season.

Other Day of Caring projects included work at the Norma Johnson Center, Blessings in a Backpack, the Dennison Depot, the Reeves Museum, and several additional nonprofit sites throughout the area.
