Mary Alice Reporting –

Minor details were taken care of during a Uhrichsville Council meeting ahead of the waterpark opening.

Two things were announced, new banners and a salary increase.

Code Enforcement Officer Amy Myers noted that the new banners will lead to the waterpark as they start on 11th street.

“[On] either side of the fountain, you’ll see two black light poles, which are ours, we’re going to put brackets on there so there will be six banners around the waterpark and then down Uhrich Street and 11th Street.”

Coming from the Finance Committee, chair Polly Clark detailed the salary increase for waterpark employees before council gave approving votes.

“For the assistant manager the pay was $12, they bumped it to $13, lifeguards were $11.50 bumped it to $13, the utility workers were $9.50 [but will be] minimum wage $10.45, and concession stand workers we’re $9.50 and bumped to $10.45.”

Meanwhile, the City of Uhrichsville is looking to hire lifeguards. The job runs Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend. Those interested can apply at the city office building, at 305 E. 2nd Street. More details are also available on the city’s Facebook page.
