Walter Fredrick Henry, “Fritz,” age 76, from Newcomerstown, passed away February 4, 2023, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with a chronic illness. He was born on February 19, 1946 in Antrim, Ohio, a son of the late Fred Auston Henry and Phoeba Jane (Bonnell) Henry.
Fritz was drafted in the military in 1965. He owned and was an auctioneer at New Palace Auction in Newcomerstown for 14 years. He was a very dedicated and hard working man, who would do anything for anyone. His last place of employment, his “Love,” was Jim’s Towing, where he worked on and off for several years. Fritz loved driving trucks and talking on the phone.
Surviving family include his wife Sandra “Sandy” Henry; children, David (Lynne) Henry, Anita (Kevin) Cody, Jane Henry; step-children who he considered his own, Ron Hall, Sharman Hall, Brian (Jennifer) Hall, Laura (Jay) Bird, Patty (Vince) Law, Dawnetta (Marc) Downer, Aaron (Maryann) Hall; 23 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; Bonnell cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Vernon, half brother Raymond, and nephew Ralph.
A funeral service for Fritz will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 1:00pm at Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown, with Pastor Mike Kennedy officiating. Visitation will take place from 11am-1pm, prior to the service. The burial will follow at Clearfork Baptist Church in Kimbolton, Ohio.
