Gwen Rummell Reporting –

An 83-year-old man died Tuesday morning from injuries sustained in a Monday-after crash in Wayne County.

According to the Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Robert Sours of Wadsworth was injured in the crash and transported to Akron City Hospital.

The incident took place on Monday before 1 pm at the intersection of SR 21 and Grill Road. An investigation revealed a Kia Sorento eastbound on Grill Road failed to yield, ran a stop sign, and attempted to cross the southbound lanes of SR 21 where a Honda Civic struck the driver’s side.

The 19-year-old Civic driver from Rittman and the 88-year-old Sorento driver, of Clinton, were both transported to Akron General Hospital for their injuries. Sours was a passenger in the Kia.

Alcohol use is suspected of contributing to the two-vehicle crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by Chippewa Township Fire and EMS, Doylestown PD, Reed’s Towing, and Valley View Towing.
