The Tuscarawas County Health Department WIC program has received information about an extension.

A fruit and vegetable increase has been expand through February 2024; however the benefits are not automatically added to the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. Individuals must visit the WIC office to have benefits changed.

Director Valier Wilson also points out that anyone wishing to be part of the program can stop in their office, located at the County Health Department, or call them at 330-343-5555 ext. 1540 for eligibility.

“WIC is income based. We check your income and as well as we’re a nutrition education program. We do have that nutrition eligibility as well.”

Connected with the extension, children can receive $26, post-partum and minimally breastfeeding participants can receive $47, pregnant and fully/partially breastfeeding participants can receive $52, and exclusively breastfeeding multiples participants can receive $78.
