William Fredricke Specht, II, 52 of Bowerston, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison. Born April18, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the eldest son of George Frederick and Amelia May “Amy” Specht of Bowerston.
A lifelong Bowerston resident, Bill was a 1988 graduate of Conotton Valley High School. He was employed by L. J. Smith Stair Systems near Bowerston for many years and was a longtime volunteer with Leesville Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid hunter, a member of the Conotton Valley Sportsman’s Club and enjoyed going to “gun bashes”. He also loved tinkering projects and would joke about his new record for the most leftover parts once it was put back together. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his family, especially his sons and daughters.
On August 4, 2018, he married Jessica Diana (Morris) Specht who survives him at their home. He is also survived by his children, Arianna, Jamie (fiancé, Mel Fox), Toby, and Bailey Specht; brothers, Dave and Doug Specht; parents-in-law, Richard and Nancy Morris; sisters-in-law, Holly (companion, Larry) Morris and Connie (Jason) Howell; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Kolby Elmer Lee Specht.
Services, officiated by Pastor Polly Ann Wolfe, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison where his family will receive callers for two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Bowerston’s Longview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bill’s family, c/o R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home, Inc., 26 Grant St., Dennison, OH 44621, to help defray the cost of his final expenses.
