William L. “Bill” Strawn 85, of Bolivar, died Friday, August 5, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton after a brief illness.  Born June 29, 1937, in New Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Donald J. and Treva M. (Mills) Strawn.

He retired in 2002 from the Ford Motor Company after 33 years.  Bill enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing, and being a handyman for his family and friends.  He always had a twinkle in his eye, a grin on his face, and was quick with a joke.

Bill is survived by his wife, the former Janice Bailey, whom he married on October 12, 1958.  Also surviving are his children Christopher J. (JoHelen) Strawn of Tuscon, Arizona, Robyn (Jerome) Nelson of Zoar, Abby Lynn (Charles) Devine of Magnolia, Kipp Alan (Maria) Strawn of Myrtle Beach, and Craig A. Strawn of Bolivar, 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Jack Stawn and a sister Lynda Poorman.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the Bolivar Community Church in Bolivar with Pastor Aaron Rae and Dr. David Miglore officiating.  In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation will follow.  Following services, a luncheon will be hosted by the Bolivar Community Church at the Wilkshire Event Center in Bolivar.  Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.  The Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar is handling the arrangements.  To share a memory, please visit the funeral home’s website.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Operation 6-12 at P.O.
