Wilma Marlene Bloom, 87, of Dover, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Born September 21, 1934, near Tippecanoe, she was the daughter of the late Wardley M. and Julia P. (Gordon) Engstrom.

Wilma was a lifelong area resident who devoted her life to her family as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who is lovingly remembered for her excellent care for her family, especially all the delicious homecooked meals. She was a member of the Uhrichsville Women of the Moose where she had served as Chaplain, was a life member of the D.A.V., and a member of the Uhrichsville Eagles Ladies’ Auxiliary. She loved shopping and going on bus trips with her family and friends to area casinos.

On January 25, 1949, Wilma wed Robert Alton Bloom, Sr. with whom she enjoyed 55 years of loving marriage until his passing on December 4, 2004. They were blessed with seven children, Janie (Bill) Erickson, Cindy (George) Armstrong, Bob (Renee) Bloom Jr., Rose King, and Paula (Dave) Hill who survive her, and Julia Ann and Robin Bloom who preceded her in death. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and her brother, Ronald Engstrom, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, husband, and daughters, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert King; sisters, Rosie Ackerman, Julie Ann Engstrom, and Wanda Miller; and brothers, Paul, Harry “Corky”, Bob, Bill, and Dick Engstrom.

According to Wilma’s wishes, cremation is planned. A memorial service is planned for a future date, and this website will be updated when details are confirmed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and Disabled American Veterans.
