Mary Alice Reporting – Just over 60 Tuscarawas County residents, primarily in New Philadelphia, outside of Uhrichsville, in Gnadenhutten, and Port Washington are still without power.

Wind gusts swept across the area over the weekend causing down trees and lines. The local power outages have an estimated restoration by 10pm this evening.

AEP Ohio notes that, for the local area, crews are fixing 12 broken poles and repairing 85 spans of down wires.

Over their coverage region, 60 mph winds caused approximately 75,000 customers to be without power, with the hardest hit areas in northeast Ohio, Portsmouth, and Upper Sandusky. Damage assessment teams noted 765 spans of wire or 33 lines miles down, as well as, 148 poles, 79 cross-arms, and 40 transformers in need of repair or replacement.
