Residents can get help stay warm this winter through the Winter Crisis Program.
Through March 31, 2025, income eligible Ohioans can get one-time assistance with their home energy bill, whether they’ve been disconnected or have received a notice.
Ohio Department of Development Lydia Mihalik says this program offers vital support.
“Families should not worry about whether they can afford to pay their bills or keep their selves or their loved ones warm.”
Those wanting to make an appointment will need their most recent utility bill, a list of all household members and their income for the past 30 days to 12-months, proof of US citizenship, and if applicable, proof of disability.
Mihalik adds that a weatherization program is also available to help with energy costs.
“We provide funding to eligible people to insulate their homes or make repairs to their existing heating system, or even install new energy efficient thermostats and so much more.”
