The Ohio Department of Health hosted a Thursday conference, updating the community on the current virus cases seen in the state.
Vaccines remain the forefront to help prevent individuals from contracting serious cases of common respiratory viruses over the winter months.
ODH Director Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff says that influenza and RSV cases remain relatively low currently in the Ohio, but that’s expected to change.
“Flu cases remain minimal in Ohio. Likewise, we are starting to see a small increase in RSV cases in Ohio, but like with the flu, this is nothing like we saw this time last year.”
Outside of getting inoculated, Ohioans can also follow hygienic steps to prevent getting viruses, including washing hands frequently and using disinfect to wipe down commonly used surfaces.
