Nick McWilliams Reporting –

A woman is safe after Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Coshocton home on Fourth Street.

A call initially came in around 12:33 p.m. related to a male with a warrant for his arrest being at the residence.

Dispatch advised that the caller was arguing with the individual in question while deputies were in route. The man kept the female caller inside the apartment when law enforcement arrived, not allowing her to unlock the door.

Deputies were advised the man had several weapons inside, and was threatening all parties.

Entry was made eventually, with the man holding the woman hostage in the corner of the room. She was able to free himself from his hold, and a taser was deployed along with a K-9 to subdue the suspect.

The man has not been identified at this point, pending formal charges, and is currently housed in the Coshocton County Justice Center. The woman was reportedly not injured, and declined EMS treatment at the scene.
