Yvonne René Martin, 59, of Uhrichsville, formerly of Plano, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born November 13, 1964 in Alexandria, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late James Armand and Carolyn Ann (Wampler) Barrett.
Yvonne lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for her free spirit and Boho vibe. She loved plants and nature – fully embracing the “treehugger” label. She enjoyed camping and a gypsy lifestyle, including riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and had been an instructor in classes for people seeking their motorcycle license.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Jamie N. and Michael Smith, with whom she had resided in Ohio for the past two years. She also leaves behind her dear friend, Donna McCarthy, whom she’s known since 6th grade and loved to travel with.
In keeping with Yvonne’s wishes, cremation is planned so that she can go home to Texas to be with her many loved ones there. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
