Gwen Rummell Reporting –

A ribbon cutting and open house was held Tuesday for a new daycare center in New Towne Mall.

Flourish by Newsymom is a state-licensed space for children 18 months to 5 years old staffed with qualified professionals. The center can accommodate up to 14 children on weekdays and weekends.

Mayor Joel Day and Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce President Scott Robinson both expressed pride for the new center. Executive Director Michaela Thomas shared the amount of contacts she had during its production.

“This has been a village project since day one from the very foundation, from the meetings that we’ve had, the partnerships, the organizations and agencies that have come together. Every single detail in here has not been done on anyone’s own. It’s been a collective project and our entire mission is wrapped up in it.

The space has three private conference rooms, a nursing room, and a sensory friendly room. The cost for the services is $10 an hour.

For more details, follow Flourish by Newsymom on Facebook or visit the mall location.
